“Our love for Shea and the Shea belt is not just limited to the Shea itself, we are also continually inspired by the beauty and the craftsmanship of the people and the region.”
~ Karitree Founders

The name Karitree originates from the French and Wolof word karité tree or Shea tree, grown along the “Shea belt” region of Africa stretching from West to East.

The patterns in our logo are simple representations of the symbols used on African (specifically Malian) mud cloths (or Bogolanfini), which have an important place in traditional Malian culture.

Like each piece of cloth is individual to the artist
so too are our products.
